please don't say learning an instrument is easy!

Picture1.png

It certainly, isn't!

And if you ever wondered what goes into learning an instrument- here is a brief diagram illustrating the connections and the training that goes into making the final product happen. And it evidently doesn't happen over night! Although, with persistence and patience, I have had students make a connection in a blink of an eye after years of nagging! But this was simply a testament to the years of persistence to create that connection.

What studying music truly requires:

1. Patience

2. Perseverance

3. Commitment

Not: "Talent"

Why not 'talent'?

Because talent is something everyone has in various ways and this only helps a person to a certain point, it does not imply the success of a person.

It does not make sense to quit because you feel you are not "as talented as someone else".

Everyone has their own hurdles and their own pace. If you feel "not good enough" or unmotivated, this is an entirely different issue. But it is also a natural part of learning an instrument which is a lifelong relationship. Nothing in life is easy and pursuing something as complex and timeless as music is an investment worth making.

If you want to assist your child in their musical development there are many ways to do so to make them feel more accomplished and 'talented'.
